Handmade stoneware from a two-person studio by the sea. Six shapes, four glazes, made in small batches.
Shop the collectionWe make a small number of things, slowly, by hand. Each piece is thrown, trimmed and glazed in our studio, and no two are quite the same.
The glaze
Every winter we keep the ash from the wood burner that heats the studio. Sieved and mixed with feldspar, it becomes the soft, speckled glaze that runs and pools a little differently on every piece.
A local stoneware body, wedged by hand and rested for a week.
Each piece is thrown on the wheel, then trimmed when leather-hard.
Glazes made in the studio from wood ash, feldspar and iron.
Two firings, the last reaching 1280°C over fourteen slow hours.
“We would rather make one good cup than a hundred adequate ones. Everything else follows from that.”
